In 2024, a version jump from 3 to 4 major versions was made, so the long-term supported version was fixed in major version 3, which has the technical version number 3.18. The Long Term Support version is the latest product version supported by LogiNet in the long term, based on the defined LTS lifecycle. A customer ordering Logishop is entitled to the latest Long Term Support version released during the product tracking period.

1. Expanding product list: introduction of product cards displaying products

The new feature does not display the default variant data on the product card in the product list but instead shows the data associated with the product. As a result, the data related to the products also appear in the product list. 

Although the system previously allowed for the display of product lists (not just variant lists), this development gives online store owners more freedom to decide what appears on the interface in such lists. The introduction of the function to expand product lists by displaying product cards took place in two phases. Phase One: Introduction of cards displaying products. Phase Two: Introduction of product cards listing variants. During both developments, the administrative interface was also expanded.

The product cards displaying products do not show the default variant data on the product list card but rather the data associated with the product. This is a significant innovation in the online store because products previously functioned as an "umbrella" concept that grouped the variants under them (e.g., Product = Logishop shoe, Variant = Logishop shoe size 39, Variant = Logishop shoe size 40, etc.). However, from now on, the data related to the products also appear in the product list.

It is important to note that product cards are only available in card view, not in row view. During the development, the "add to favourites" modal was also expanded, allowing users to choose which variant of the product they want to add to their favourites or personal lists. The filter's operation remains unchanged; filtering is based on data related to variants, and the price display can still be customized. The appearance of promotional products differs for B2B and B2C: in B2B, the promotional badge appears on the product card, while in B2C, the "Promotional product variants" label is found on the final page. In the administrative interface, you can set what type of price appears on the card (no price displayed, "from" price, interval price) and whether reviews are visible.

This function can be useful for online stores where products have many variants, and it is simpler if the system displays products instead of variants, especially if the appearance of the products does not change significantly between variants.

2. General PSI (PageSpeed Insight) Optimizations

To improve website performance, the homepage, product page, and list page optimization have been implemented, along with the lazy load function. These measures improve the PageSpeed Insights score, resulting in better search engine ranking and enhanced user experience.

To increase page speed, we optimized the homepage, the final product page, and the list page, and introduced the lazy load function. PageSpeed Insights (PSI) is a tool that analyzes the speed and performance of web pages and provides suggestions for improvement. The PSI score is important because quickly loading pages are favoured in search engine rankings. Optimizations and lazy load help delay the loading of images and other media content, leading to faster page load times and a better user experience. These measures not only enhance the user experience but also have a positive impact on SEO.

On the surface, this is an almost imperceptible change, but it is crucial in the background.
